Ruben Fuentes Jr

Bio

Ruben Fuentes was born in Los Angeles, raised in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. After his heavy involvement in the performing arts all throughout his childhood, his attention to detail and storytelling soon drove his eagerness to practice filmmaking.

 

Ruben’s goal is to remain a successful Director, Writer, and Cinematographer while advocating for gender equality in the entertainment industry, positively representing the LGBT and Latino Communities, and inspiring young minds to unleash their creativity and stories through any art-form.

Education - B.A. Film Production, CSU-Northridge

When it came to college applications, California State University, Northridge(CSUN) ranked at the top of his list due to the film program’s successful reputation. Once accepted, his goal was to become as involved as possible within the university. While at CSUN, Ruben made the Dean’s List for all eight of his semesters and won the 2017 La Raza Alumni Chapter Scholarship, 2018 Mary Bayramian Memorial Scholarship, and 2019 Scott M. Weiss Memorial Scholarship. While staying involved in the community, Ruben worked in the production, camera, or grip and electric departments on various CSUN Senior Thesis Films some of which include: Kuanza, Into Daylight, Hot Latin Nights at the Granada, and Entropie, as well as on many I am a Matador TV spots.
